What are your hours?

Walkthrough Service Hours: 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.

Main Library: Open Wednesday through Saturday
Richmond Branch Library: Open Tuesday

(Curbside Pickup Service will be available Tuesday through Saturday at Main Library and Tuesday at Richmond Branch Library).

Do I have to wear a mask to enter the library?

Yes. Even though Gov. Murphy has dropped the mask mandate, the library administration is requiring that all staff and visitors wear face masks while inside the library. We will examine this policy as the summer progresses.

Are there any limits on visits to the library?

Effective June 1, people are invited to visit the library as many times as they want per day, and for as long as they want.

What are you doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

The library staff is taking many protective measures, including requiring staff and visitors to properly wear masks. We encourage staff and visitors to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building and socially distance. Other measures include the installation of plexiglass at our service desks, thorough cleanings throughout the day, and quarantining and disinfecting materials when they are returned. Also, some of our normal services or often-touched items will be unavailable (see question below). We are also offering a contactless Curbside Pickup Service.

What will be unavailable?

In an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, the following will be unavailable to the public: sitting areas, newspapers, office supplies, water fountains, pay phone and Teen Lounge (Makerspace and video games). We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

My items were due back before you closed. What are you doing about overdue fines?

We are waiving all overdue fines when late materials are returned, regardless of the amount or how late those items are. Repeated overdues may result in a loss of membership privileges.

Can I sit down to read?

Unfortunately, no. Our sitting area where people can read is unavailable.

Are the book drops open?

Yes, they will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We encourage people who are stopping by just to return their materials (books, DVDs, CDs and magazines) to place them in our book drop.

Will you be holding programs?

Yes, but they are online. Registration is required for many of the programs. For the schedule, click here.

Can I use the microfillm?

Yes, use of the microfilm will be available by appointment. Please contact our archivist at (609) 345-2269.

When do you expect things to return to normal?

It’s impossible to predict. We are following mandates from the State of New Jersey. Changes in the COVID-19 statistics could positively or negatively affect the hours and services we’re able to offer. We anticipate that our “new normal” will remain in place into 2021.
